The second week of our calendar contest, hosted by Kasey Wilson Pet Photography, is underway and the mini-prize is awesome!! Thank you Hailey's Pilates for their donation of a one-on-one private lesson, yoga mat, yoga ball, and yoga bands.
Here's how it works:
From now until May 31, you can submit a picture of your pup ($5 per entry) for a chance to be featured in our 2026 calendar. Other people will vote for their favorite photos ($1 per vote) and the 12 pups with the most votes will win a complementary photo shoot with Kasey Wilson and be featured in the calendar.
To keep the momentum going, we are also offering weekly mini-prizes. The picture with the most votes by noon on Saturday will win the weekly prize. This week, the lucky winner will have an amazing yoga lesson with Hailey's Pilates. They’ll also win another basket of goodies donated by NDLB.

Let’s give a big round of applause to Piper for the amazing progress he has made in his foster home 👏🏻
Piper is originally from the streets of Afghanistan. We aren’t sure what his past looks like, but we do know this gorgeous fella had a hard time adjusting to his new life in Minnesota. Thankfully, he has an amazing foster family that’s provided him with structure, adventures, and so much love.
Piper keeps making progress with reactivity towards dogs/people and gets so excited to try new things. His recent adventures include nature trails, a Sniffspot, and his very own Toppl (which he hugs while he eats). Once he gets to know other people or dogs, he is a loyal companion. He loves to relax on the couch, go for walks, and get belly rubs from his favorite people.
Please share with people who might be able to offer him the calm, supportive, and engaging home he deserves! You can read more about him at ndlbrescue.org/adoptable-dogs/#action_0=pet&animalID_0=20537131&petIndex_0=44

🩺🌍 World Health Day Feature: Pee Air Lover Boy’s Fresh Start 🌍🩺
For 10 years, Pee Air Lover Boy was used only for one thing—breeding.
No walks.
No toys.
No real home.
No one to love him back.
But rescue changed everything.
This World Health Day, we’re celebrating second chances—starting with this sweet Frenchie who’s finally getting the medical care and affection he’s always deserved. Pee Air came to us under-socialized and unfamiliar with even basic things like stairs, but with patience and vet care, he’s now thriving.
✅ Fully vetted
✅ Neutered and microchipped
✅ Vaccines, preventatives, and more included
He’s learning to potty outside, loves his treats and chew bones, and is a world-class napper (complete with an adorable “Superman pose” when he flops down flat). 🦸♂️💤
Pee Air gets along with dogs, ignores cats, and follows his foster mom around the house like the loyal little lovebug he is. 💛
💬 His only ask? A soft bed, a warm heart, and a home where he finally gets to be the baby.
💌 Adopt Pee Air Lover Boy and be part of his healing journey. His adoption fee helps cover his full medical care, because every rescue dog deserves to feel as good as they look.

What dogs need foster home
Odin!!!! I love you buddy I’m praying for you
Our newest friend Cookie Dough sure has perfected the puppy dog eyes 🥹
The local shelters know we have a soft spot for parvo dogs, so they'll often contact us directly when a parvo-positive dog comes into their care. That's how we learned about Cookie Dough. She was taken to St. Paul Animal Control after she was found in someone's backyard, sick enough that she couldn't walk. Unfortunately, many rescues don't have the resources to care for parvo dogs, so poor Cookie Dough didn't have anyone coming to help her. We feel fortunate that we have several medical fosters willing and able to help in these cases.
Cookie Dough joined NDLB a few days ago. She isn't out of the woods yet -- with parvo, things can go downhill quickly -- but we are feeling optimistic right now. Although she isn't consistently eating, she is drinking water on her own and even gets a little sassy with her foster when she is syringe-fed. Her foster mom doesn't mind Cookie Dough's spitfire ways because that means she is gaining energy 🩷
Please send good energy that Cookie Dough continues to feel stronger every day! We want to see this sweet girl have a chance at her perfect life.
If you'd like to help us continue this life-saving work, please donate below.
Venmo: NDLB-DONATION (under our director, Chariss Nearmyer; confirmation 0442 - please mention Cookie Dough's name in one of the comment boxes)

Thank you! We'll keep you updated on Cookie Dough's progress 🍪 ... See MoreSee Less
